South Australia is often described as the driest state on the driest continent and our recent summers have been the hottest on record.

This makes gardening very challenging so choosing the right plants is critical for successs. In this class you will learn how plants from other Mediterranean climate regions have adapted to glaring light, blazing hot sun and prolonged periods of drought.

There will be tips on soil preparation, optimum planting times, mulching and creating shade and shelter to make your garden both lovely to look at and live in. The class will conclude with a guided tour of the stunning Mediterranean Garden located in the heart of the Adelaide Botanic Garden.
