The Yellow Torch Tithonia provides a gorgeous, mellow contrast to the typical fiery orange Mexican sunflowers. This variety is truly striking: strongly branched, it sends up fluted stems that hold aloft velvety, golden-orange flowers, each about three inches across. The effect is a magnificent beacon of summer sunshine that keeps blooming continuously from mid-summer right until the first frost. Its easy-to-care-for nature and towering height (reaching five to six feet) make it an eye-catching backdrop or hedge in any garden design.

This plant is the ultimate delight for pollinators, drawing in butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds all season long. A key tip for the practical gardener: be mindful of fertilizer! While its robust growth is appealing, avoid over-fertilizing, as this plant is eager to reach eight feet or more. Once the magnificent blooms fade, the cones remain, ripening into seeds that attract birds late in the season, ensuring your patch provides food and beauty until winter arrives.
